Carrington Shield Strategies, LLC (CSS) was founded in 2024 to provide the community with consulting services in the area of space environment effects. CSS specializes in the charged particle environment (i.e., electrons, protons and heavy ions) and its internal and external effects on spacecraft designs. These include effects due to both radiation (e.g., total dose, single event effects, etc.) and spacecraft charging.

Nicole Pothier McGillivray is the Owner and Chief Engineer at Carrington Shield Strategies, LLC. She has nearly a decade of experience working alongside multidisciplinary teams tackling unique challenges related to the charged particle environment for a wide variety of missions and orbits, including satellites, cargo vehicles and future manned spacecraft. Nicole is adept at developing solutions to meet unique mission needs.
